Hey Y'all...I just got home from the local bike shop. My spot lights stopped working. They worked fine while on my IBA ride the whole way. They stopped working after I washed the bike. I figured it was because water got in some connector or someplace & shorted them out. I checked it out real good a couple of days ago & nothing was wet. I jumpered a wire to each individual light & they came on so it is not the lights themselves. The relay has voltage to it. Since I did not wire them in & I don't have a schematic diagram of the unit I don't know where to go next. I traced the wiring as far as I could & could not find the problem. Don't know if the circuit is fused so don't know where to look for one. There is an aftermarket switch assembly on top of the clutch master cylinder with three switch levers. There is only one that I have been using the lights with. I jumpered to it & the current passes thru when the switch is tripped. There is no power to the switch tho. So, maybe the tech at the bike shop can figure it out. May be a bad ground circuit.
The weather is really going to get bad here tomorrow so I will be taking the Ram3500 dually to work tomorrow. Hope they have it fixed by off work time tomorrow. I am off all week-end this week & it is supposed to be nice this week-end. Good riding time is slowly drawing near to an end. It will start getting really cold with snow & ice soon...maybe.
