:tickedoff:I have read most of the posts regarding delayed turn signals and tried most of the listed solutions with no luck. The thing that's puzzling is the hotter it is outside, the quicker the signals begin working. So far I have.....1) Cleaned turn signal switch; 2) Replaced the flasher; 3) Removed rear tail light assembly to check for bad wire or grounding issue; 4) Removed headlight to check for bad wire or grounding issues....everything looks fine. As I said, when it's hot out, they will come on instantly. This morning was in the upper 60's, it took almost 20 seconds before they'd start to flash...I don't get it....

Dont take this the wrong way.
1) how did you clean your turn signal switch?
Did you disassemble it? and clean the contacts?

I think what's going on here is, the old grease gets hard when it's cold so you don't get a good contact. When it warms up the grease is softer so you get better contact. Take the switch apart and give it a good cleaning , I use very fine sand paper to clean the contacts, it should solve the problem.

Have you checked one of the light sockets with a volt meter? When it's cold out check the voltage at the contacts in the socket when the signal switch is turned on. If you have 12 volts then it's before the light. Then proceed to the flasher and so on. If you have a standard flasher and it's not getting 12 volts to it, it will take longer to heat up and start flashing.

Sounds like flasher to me. You can get an electronic flasher at parts store fairly cheap. More of a timer than a bimetal old school flasher that relies on load to function. The temperature or number of bulbs(load) have no effect on it. Hope I this helps.

I cleaned the switch by taking the front and rear screws out and opening the front about an inch. I then sprayed contact cleaner to flush it out, lubed the slide and put it back together. I was nervous about taking the switch completely off the handlebar...do I need to disassemble further?

The problem can still be the old grease in the switch, yes you need to disassemble further get that old hard grease changed out

OK....So I took my turn signal assembly all the way apart, cleaned it and sand papered parts with buildup with very fine grit paper. It had a little gunk left in there but not bad. I'll see what happens. Also in case they still don't work, it looks like the Novita flasher will need some type of adapter? Or maybe it's a cut/splice situation.....

I was thinking it should just plugin. I have used it before to build the four way flasher. Now you've got me thinking
