Cobra 6x6 exhaust

Reading about the Cobra 6x6 exhaust. I suspect from talking with the PO that he just put the new exhaust on the bike. I hadn't asked yet if he re-jetted the carbs. I don't know if I'll keep them on the bike, but so far I like them. It will all depend how the noise is on a long trip.

So back to the Cobra's. Seems I should be looking at the spark plugs for how rich the carbs are running?

If I switch back to the OEM exhaust, same thing, inspect the plugs.

Does this sound about like what I should be doing?

if the po hasn't rejetted, then you shouldn't have to worry about the stock pipes. i don't like too msny of the aftermarket needles which have adjustible clips .... i prefer stock needles.  with the cobras , i have 38 slow jets, and 105 main jets, and have the fuel air screws backed out 1 1/2 turns from stop.

Is there a gasket that needs replacing, if I remove the cover to inspect the needle, to see if it is stock or not?

There is a gasket for the bowl, but I didn't change mine when I rejetted. No problems.
