I'm changing out my Water Pump this weekend. I've looked through several threads on the subject. I've discovered that I need to drain the oil before removing the old pump.
Is there any other things that I should be aware of?

Yes start the engine first thing, get them bolts and the block warm. High chance of breaking bolt, worse when cold. Tap on the socket And extension with a small hammer before attempting to loosen, this is to help break loose any corrosion.

Changing out the water pump went off without a hitch today.
Warming it up a bit before loosening the bolts was probably a really good idea.
They were very rusted when they came out.
I was hesitant about reusing them but since I didn't have new ones and I didn't want to wait another week, I went ahead and reused them.
I tried something to remove the rust that turned out to work pretty well.
I let them soak for awhile in vinegar.
The vinegar really did remove a lot of the rust.
I finished cleaning them with a wire brush and sprayed them with a liberal coating of WD40 before reinstalling them.

Any one ever used "fluid film" ? Instead of "anti seize".

WD40 won't help in this application. It evaporates and leaves clean dry metal behind. Remove the bolts (one at a time) and use Never Sieze on the threads.

I usually just brush some 10-W30 or whatever is handy in motoroil when installing bolts like that. I haven't used real anti seize in years. WD-40 doesn't work all that well. It works best at removing glue and goo. The Walmart spray lube works better than WD-40 for actual lubrication.

Man, I got only one water pump. It's kind of old and beat up, but I don't want a new one.

Did a w/pump on one of mine this past spring. On advice of a tech, I ordered new bolts with the pump. Mine were corroded almost 1/2 their diameter Got lucky and they didn't break coming out!
