Hey got a question for you Valk riders that get more wet weather than we do out hear in West Texas. I was riding today and went through a few showers and it seams to me that my I/S was pushing out with the front tire in the turns. I’m running a Avon Venom. Any thoughts?  Undecided

How much tread left or how many miles on it?

Sounds like you done got all the goody out of it.

Myself, I like the Metzler's better.    More tread on the ground, & ya don't get the famous Avon wobble.

Usually I get close to 25 to 30K out of a front Metz.

I don't know what wobble is being reffered to.  I have lots of miles on Avons, and quite a few of those miles are in the rain.  Never had any trouble.
Check your tread and pressure, and ride on.

Hey RJ , I 'm just curious about that wobble on Avon tires you mentioned because I noticed as I speed up and get closer to that 100 mph mark the front  end seems to drift from side to side just alittle or maybe a wobble I guess it feels just like when your behind an 18 wheeler with the buffeting effect .... my bearings are fine at the wheel and in the steering and I just added the prog front springs and new fork seals  and new I/S shocks on the rear .... I'm running  an avon up front with a C/T and I always check the air pressure .... so now is this so called wobble a common symptom with avon's or it just a flaw in the steering geometry of the Valk ? let me know ..... Thanks Old Geezer Richard

The Tread is good and the air is 38psi so all that is good I was thinking that the age of the tire may be the issue I don’t ride a lot  like some, the time may have 7to 9k on it but it is 6 years old. I’m wondering about hardening rubber.

Bump your pressure up to the 45 to 48 PSI range.

That will knock out some of that wobble.

I had 3 different tires do it, Avon replaced all of them.   The last one they footed a Metz for me.
I Had to pay mounting.

Mitch,
Good to see at White Buffalo Rally in Snyder TX. You told me it doesn't rain in west Texas, whats up with that??? I ran with a Metz on front at 45 psi thru 120 miles of rain on Sunday at times heavy rain. I went to the Ride For Kids in Grapevine,TX.  It already has about 7000 miles on it and it didn't seems to be any problem. I never had the feeling that there was thing wrong with the tires.  The only thing i don't like about the Metz tire is that it seems very noisy on most types of pavement. No complaint about not sticking to the road. A 6 year old tire ?? now that's a problem IMO ~TJ
