Over the weekend a friend and I found ourselves in need of six intake runner o-rings, supposedly available at any auto parts store by requesting the size 123 o-ring.  Maybe the local auto store clerks are not well educated in o-ring sizes, but everyone that we ask in 5 different auto parts stores and one well stocked hardware store knew absolutely nothing about a size 123 o-ring.  Those who were interested enough to look brought out a big red box of assorted o-rings just like the one I have here in my garage.  We finally found someone who could help us at Advanced Auto Parts.  The metric size of the o-ring is (28MM X 34MM X 3MM).  Advanced Auto's Parts carries it by the part (#64628.1).  I hope this might help someone in the future or maybe someone will add it to the list of substitute parts...JTL

Ace Hardware also carries a #45 size "O" ring that seems to work well as a substitute for the OEM part. Am on my second season with the set on my Tourer; thus far, they appear to be doing fine.

John, we did go to Ace.  They had a good selection of o-rings.  I think that we bought some #43's by comparing them to the old o-rings that came out of the intake runners.  We did not have an intake runner with us on the first trip to town.  We must have missed the #45's since we just had to pick and choose by sight...JTL

Pharmboy...

Thanks for the leg work on finding substitute o-rings at the Advance Store.  I had to dig for this but I knew you had posted this before... I wanted to bring this back to the top in case someone else was thinking of changing the intake o-rings.  99 cents each!

These are more expensive, but should last longer than your bike.

$6.41 for 25 Viton
I'm sure the local hydraulic shop has them cheaper than Mcmaster though.
