Glad you're home. Remember my dad telling about the rigorous physical therapy they had planned for him after the surgery (knees). Pre-surgery, the doc went on and on with schedules and goals and ranges of motion. When the doc was finished, my dad asked if he was going to be allowed to lay down for the operation.

Very happy to hear that your new suspension has been installed. Did the manufacturer give you a warranty? Did they charge you a recycle fee on the old parts?

Kinda PO'd the neighbor across the street, had his done the old method. That cuts muscles and ligaments are removed and reattached, done for access. Long time healing, lots of restrictions on positions of your leg. Had mine done with the anterior approach, no muscles cut, nothing. I have a 6" waterproof patch on the hip near the top of the right thigh. No restriction as to movements or positions. My neighbor used crutches for close to a month, no bending to less than 90 deg. between the upper and lower body, no crossing the legs. I'm using a 4 wheel walker for safety but it's not needed to walk. I can walk at a decent clip wiithout a walker or cane, can bend over to put my shoe on, can cross my legs but don't at the moment....still a little tender. So, what PO'd the neighbor? He was working in the yard so I walked out to the garage and asked if I could borrow his jump rope.

Great news, amazing at how routine the joint replacement surgeries have become. Great story about the jump rope but I agree with the others that you don't want to over due it. I'm sure the neighbor is quite impressed as are we with your progress.

Today I had my first visit from the nurse and another one from physical therapy. The nurse was a bit of a card, we hit it off right away. When she said she needed to look at the patch and surrounding area, I asked for some dancing music while I undid my pants. She started humming Stairway to the Stars, an old Vaudeville bump 'n grind piece. When the britches came down she did an impromptu drum roll on the table.....brrump bump. We both got a good chuckle out of it, lots of bruising down there is all. Next visit was the physical therapist(PT). That's one ditzy broad. Long story so won't go into details here, suffice it to say I hope I get a different one from here on out. Rita just sat and shook her head, finally had to leave the room. Takes all kinds I guess!
