I voted for "call me when it's warm" only because I'll be recovering from surgery and won't be able to ride no matter the weather. But Hey if I'm feeling up to it, I might just cage to what ever your destination is. It's unlikely, but you never know.
In any case Everyone have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I've been a number of Polar Bear new year's rides. But I'm not going on a polar bear run. Unless it's with a bunch of slower guys.... and even then.

Due to circumstances beyond my control I will not be able to lead the ride on new years day. My mom is requesting the family come to her house for a special dinner at noon so that's where I'm going to be. Sorry

Speedo will glad to lead. Starting the year with pie is great Like eating dessert first while there is space The rest of the year will be lots of Barbeque
The poll is back on! Where do you want to go for Pie?

Hmmm... Never been to the Pie Pantry. Based on polling data you could hit both. Pie Pantry and Hico all in the same trip. On the way to Hico refuel at the Pie Pantry. What a great way to start of the New Year!

The weather looks like it's going to cooperate. In the spirit of moderation, I really like TJ's plan!
Is there a plan? Is there a schedule? From my starting point, it makes more sense for me to meet folks at (one of) the destination(s).

TJ got a good plan. Two times pie is better than just once. We will go from the Pie Pantry in Glen Rose to the Koffee Kup in Hico For me out of Dallas it is a straight run down 67 to Hico Back from Hico to Paluxy to Granbury and 377 back to Ft. Worth to Dallas. (Unless TJ has better route for us) I would much rather meet up some of you on the way down and ride together for pie and lunch. So I propose a meet 360 and I20 or 35W and I-20 at 10 -10:30am on Sunday the 1st. Give me some input and I will stitch something fun together (example: 360 to Lillian to Keene to Cleburne) Speedo

Proposed plan sounds good. Please advise location to meet at 10:30 on the 1st. One of the big quickie marts an exit or so south of 820 on 35 might be good (easy to find, on your proposed path). Sycamore School road off I35W on the SW corner of the intersection is one. Google maps is not clear whether this is an Exxon or Shell station. Or, propose another location..... Mike 817 308 8843

The route I take from the north side to Glen Rose avoids the metromess and takes 2.5 hours. Is there an ETA @ Pie Peddlers?
And... Are they or Koffee Kup open on the 1st???
I remember us getting all psyched up for German food a couple of years ago and finding Muenster essentially shuttered. Good thing Sweetie Pies in Decatur was open!

So I got 2 takers, anybody else? Both are open Koffee Kup is open early Pie pantry opens at 11am ETA 11:42am You realize that the Cowboys play at noon? We can always go earlier to Hico and be home at noon and win the trifecta: Ride, pie and watch football.
Disco what is your route? Maybe we will meet up with you along the way. Since I am North Dallas and Exexcess (Mike 817 308 8843) is already west of Ft. Worth.
Here is my route (u-turns not yet included) Pie Peddlers in Glen Rose 1 h 12 min (52.2 miles) Start 2 exits below I-20 and 35W SW corner of 35W and Sycamore road Meet at the Exxon / 7-Eleven at 10:30 West on Sycamore road South on Crowley road In Burleson it becomes NW John Jones Dr Right /east on 174 Through Joshua Left on Marti rd or 67 Around Cleburne Airport Across Lake Pat Cleburne Left south on Park Rd 21 Right at Split on FM200 Left / west at Nemo South on 67 Left on 144 Barnard st On the right after Pecan Street Pie Peddlers
