Anyone interested in a Ride to Yarnell for "Breakfast" this week end?

I put Breakfast in Quotes because most folks don't want to leave until 0900 which will put food in front of us at around 1030. To me that's just about lunch...

Any way Saturday or Sunday any time is good.  I'll be leaving from Surprise near where the 303 meets Grand Ave.  The ride is about 60 miles one way. On the way back I would like to stop at the new Memorial for the Yarnell 19.

If you are interested, post up your preference. I'm leaning towards Sunday.

Hey Big Tom - Sorry, I'm interested but just can't do Sunday for breakfast. I could do Saturday but it sounds like rain Saturday morning and you know wimpy me. Hope you have a good ride. Hopefully next time.

Copied this from the GW board...

"The Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park is now open. For those of you who ride Yarnell Hill, you've seen the construction on the downhill side. It is now open. there is no entry fee and donations are accepted. It is dedicated to the Granite Mountain Hotshot firefighters who died in 2013 fighting the fires near Yarnell. 19 of a 20 man crew died up there. The state park is basically a parking area off the side of the road with a few pictorials about the firefighters. There is a 3.5 mile trail that leads up and over the mountain to the site where they died with trail markers along the way with tributes to each firefighter. Unfortunately, I'm no longer in shape for a 7 mile uphill hike, maybe someday I'll get back to that but probably not.  Worth a stop when you are in that area. Sobering and sad."

OK it seems that I cannot do Saturday so I am going to give up on this W/E. I got a PM from someone who is available for Saturday 12/24. I know that is Christmas Eve but a morning ride will not affect my Holiday. I will start a New thread for that ride.. Smiley
