I'm trying to help a friend find a set of saddlebag rails for his tourer. I found these on Ebay;
anybody know anything about them ??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA-VALKYRIE-CHROME-SADDLEBAG-SADDLE-BAG-RAILS-GUARDS_W0QQitemZ260483423067QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotorcycles_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3ca6059b5b&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

I know OEM are next to impossible to find and costs are out of this world...
Any other options out there ???

Thanks

I have read bad things about those rails, here on this board (I believe)... someone put them on and they had problems lining them up correctly. The whole shebang was shifted to one side or the other so it was right up next to one bag, and too far off the opposite one.

Haven't personally seen them live or used them, so YMMV

Hope I didn't' p*** in your corn flakes...

I've been watching these for awhile too.  No first hand experience to offer, but I have noticed that the feedback has generally been positive.

I bought a set of those about 9 months ago off ebay... different vendor but the exact same ad.  Mine bolted & lined up just fine and I am very pleased with them.  However, I did not receive any installation instructions.  I emailed vendor and he responded quickly but said I should be able to obtain some from internet. He said he didn't have any.

Those are the aftermarket rails that have fitment issues.
Apparently they'll work. But, if your particular about fit & finish see how different the 2 rear bends are. That's not all due to camera angle. It seems all their units are like that. Based on the history posted here. Their fabrication jig doesn't match side to side. It's not even close. IMO

Dennis absolutely correct about the rails....they are very poor quality and the people do not stand by their product.  I bought a set and noticed the very same issue that Dennis pointed out in the photo, it is very noticeable.  Worse yet, the chrome is very poorly done.  Do yourself a favor and don't touch them.
