.....Chili,s older sister and family came up from Pa, for the week....it,s been rainy most of the week, but the skies did stop for a bit so we went on a lil drive about....Sleeping Bear Dunes is South of Belaire right on Lake Michigan....huge sand dunes that are very steep...about 150 feet down to the water...

...observation deck so you can take it all in..

....looking down the main dune...

. ....some folks in the back ground...to give you a little Idea of how vast the area is...

.....very scenic area..

....it cost 10 dollars to get in the park....but well worth the money.....Northern Michigan has many many lakes and beautiful sites.....nature at it,s finest..

....yep...wasnt a very good summer...first our riding season was ruined by a... lying manipulator...now it appears that our Indian Summer was a week long....Chili and I were looking forward to doing a ..Fall Color Tour...with some close friends...hopefully we,ll still get a chance at a few good sunny days...

....that snow talk is depressing in and of it,s self....we had a 24 degree "fluke night" last week...had to bring all the plants in off the deck..for one night...then take em all back out again....snowed around October 15th last year...then melted away real quick....hoping for some real strong....southernly winds...to blow all that stuff....over Cheesehead way....at least for a another month or two..  Roll Eyes

Keep it, please...

We've got a Wisconsin Wrench/Desmog Party scheduled for Saturday at Jim's house...  Drew is headed this way from the Chicago suburbs, and a few others may come to supervise, from up north a ways.

Weather dude says it will be cool (temps in the high 30 for Friday night), but no rain, for Saturday.

We've still got some riding to do, although it will be easier to do with the electrics plugged in  Wink

AWESOME SHOTS AND REPORT BROTHER!!!!!!!!!!

Man, that looks like a MUST DO.  I know when I went up to Minnesota and Wisconsin last time in, the WHOLE GREAT LAKES was NOTHING like I thought it would be.  I was on roads that you may as well be in Colorado on, awe inspiring forests and everytime you would see a great lake, it was like = DAMN, I DIDN'T THINK WE HAD RIDDEN FAR ENOUGH TO GET TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN!!!!!  Shocked

Great roads that I have seen so far up there, beautiful country and never meet a bad folk yet!!!!!!!  I mean, you Yankee folks put our Southern hospitality to shame at times.....You know, come to think of it, I reckon it is just "PEOPLE HOSPITALITY"  cooldude Grin cooldude  Don't have a damn thing to do with geographics. I have gotten hospitality up yonder that I CAN NEVER RECIPRECATE!  No way - no how.  Fine, fine folks you got up there - one and all!  cooldude

Again, that is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just got a fix of "the view" that riding is all about.  THANKS BRO!  Sitting in Africa and was jonesing bad until your post!  Thanks again!

You gotta show me sometime!!!!  And hell, we thought we had sand dunes,.......  Undecided

Just spent 5 days in Traverse City and surrounding area (got home today). You're right. Weather was horrible, but Fish Town in Leeland, the winery tours and tasting, Suttons Bay, and our favorite restaurant in the area, North (formerly Leelanau Country Inn) in Maple City were as good as ever.

We make it to the area at least once per year and can't wait until InZane X!!
