Got this from his FB page
Rick wants everyone to know that it looks like he's out of the woods and he's getting stronger every day. He's ready to get started with therapy and get out of ICU. Definitely ready for a change of scenery. He says that he loves you all... And thank you...

Status:
Right arm still non functional, left arm good but wrist weak and tender. Unable to stand or walk yet. Doing OK slide shifting from one place to another, like chair to bed, couch to chair, flame stool to toilet, etc.
Even the smallest efforts are a huge exhausting amount of work. Very frustrating, esp for one who as little patience as it is!
Every day, small but definite progress. Everything hurts, almost all the time. Finding a balance between rest and exercise so I don't stiffen up like a corpse. Yeah, this is hard.

OK, one more bang-up to go and you'll match TJ. But you have to do it within a year so make plans early.  2funny  Good to hear you seem to be patching up fairly well, it's stuff like this that reminds us we're not 25 anymore and it takes a bit longer.  cooldude

Rick Tiner

..

I had 3 surgeons at different times. Guzman for the waist down, on the day of the wreck 12-20. His associate Leach for right upper arm on the 28th, and Meyer for left wrist on the 23rd. Saw Guzman on Tuesday. He signed off on legs weight bearing status, meaning go for it, just go slow and be careful. Arm...No prognosis...It was very badly damaged...I get what I get based on how hard I wanna work for it.
We see Meye about the wrist tomorrow.
Now comes.some real pain... waking the legs up. I can stand straight and unassisted for a minute, then control it back to seated. As I do reps and build stamina, there's side to side weight shifting, shuffling, and eventually picking one foot up at a tim. THEN I can start working with the walker. Gonna take awhile, bottom line, but I will walk again.
Thass it for now, Kidz. Ima hit the hay. Long day, got a lot done, really tired and leg muscles sore as snuggle!
Love you guy. Hope all are well and happy. Be careful out there.
