Has anyone polished their fork tubes. I plan on polishing my wheels and every other thing I can think of this winter and wondered why I have never seen any polished fork tubes. If I were to polish everything on the tube except where the triple tree clamps on, that shoudn't be a problem should it? The lathe tool marks on the OD are pretty coarse and I was thinking that it might be so that the triple tree clamps get a good bite. The other option is the Kewl Metal Fork Tubes but they are mighty expensive and my Memphis Batwing clamps wouldn't fit them anyway.

Polish away. Mine have been polished for several years from the top to the bottom. The triple clamp won't know the differance. Have you ever seen chrome forks. Same same.  coolsmiley

Fork tube uppers along with the TBR triple clamp are plated.  The lowers and rotors are highly polished. Calipers are plated. Can't tell the difference and you would be surprised that you only need to chase the polish once in awhile with mother's.  No need to coat.  They stay nice and fine looking.

It's a go then, I'll be doing it to the 97. Thanks for all the input.
