Up on the inside of the front fender are two pieces of rubber kinda of boomerang shaped, one on each side .... what is their purpose ??  Almost looks like they are starting to come off and rubbing the tire.

Had the same thing happening.  Pulled them out.  According to the fiche, they are protectors.  I guess to keep rocks from banging the inside of the fender.

just go ahead and pull it out and save for the next time you change the tire.  Stick in back in with some contact cement.

Mine were coming loose also.  I pulled them out and sprayed the underside of the fender with a rubberized compound (I think it was made by 3M).  It's similar to a bed liner, but softer.  Works well.

On the other hand... I rode quite a few miles without anything under the fender, and that worked well also.

They are to scare the hell out of you soon after you get your valk.  I saw rubbing marks on my front tire while on a 2000 mile trip.  Could not see where the tire was rubbing.  Finally reached up into the fender to feel around and pulled those things out and put them in the saddle bag.  Been sitting on a shelf in the garage now for the last 7 years.  Gonna glue them back in sometime.   Smiley

Hi all,
The pads inside the front fender have a purpose to absorb vibrations of the fender.
If there are marks on the tire, there is a great problem with the tire! Normally inflated and mounted tire never touch the pads.

Just glue'em back on.  I added another one along the centerline of the fender to keep gravel from dinging around inside the fender.

They touch the tire when the glue cuts loose and they hang down and rub on the tire
