Does the Hartco seat for the Valkyrie come one way and fits both Standard and Interstates like the Mustang?

I have one on the Tourer.  I tried it on my IS and couldn't make it work.  Just too tight on front.  Thought it might have been interference with my leather tank bra, but took it off and still couldn't make it fit.

Other than that, I love that Hartco seat.  It's wide and comfortable, supports your thighs like a Russell.  It'so wide Tourer bag lids will bump it when they open.  I went to IS bag hinges to remedy that.   cooldude

Damn, not what I was hoping to hear. How old is yours? Wondering if the newer ones are made for both.

The problem is probably the IS's larger tank. The mustang fits both hut much tighter on the IS because of the nose hitting the tank.

Got mine for the Tourer winter of 2012-13.  Ordered from the dude who occasionally sells them on eBay, right around $350 shipped for the whole setup (rider, passenger, rider backrest).  Rider seat looked like it should fit my IS, oh so close.  It seemed like the problem was at the nose of the seat where it was hitting the IS tank.  I tried pushing it down pretty hard, but didn't want to crack the fiberglass pan and gave up.  Full disclosure the PO installed an amp and fuse block under the seat, but the problem seemed to be where the seat nose was hitting the tank.  YMMV.

I found a used Ultimate King for the IS that is NOT as comfortable as the Hartco.

Note that the Hartco will jack you up about an inch further than your used to sitting.  If you've got 13" Progressives and an Austone tire the setup might not work for you, especially if you're vertically challenged or have a short inseam.

Thanks Valkorado. This is right around the same price and brand new. Im going to call Hartco Monday and see what it would cost to modify it to fit my I/S. Ive had Corbins, Ultimates (Low boy and Big boy) and currently have a Mustang so aside from Russell, this is the only one I havent tried.

I've made adjustments to my Russell, not to fit the tank but to provide room for more stuff under the seat. I made a longer latch loop out of steel, bumper to hold the nose up a bit and the same on top of the frame rails on the sides.  Tire material cut to fit, held in place with zip ties and Goop work great. Just took a couple hours and it all fits, seat is solidly mounted.
