Brake pads
«

Has anyone besides Ledney replaced their brake pads? I am going to put a new front tire on soon and looked at the pads and will probably change both out soon. The factory pads are sintered and EBC makes pads for our bikes also. The fronts match to a CBR900 as well as our bikes, but the rear are only applicable to our bikes. Any recommendations?

Besides seriously considering not switching away from OEM? Not much, sorry.
On my Meanie I switched to aftermarket HH pads. Great stopping ability...hard on the rotors
I'll be sticking to OEM's this time, hopefully I can get a handle on their squealing by then.

I was never a fan of EBC brakes. When I put a set on my old valk it always sounded like I had a rock stuck in my pads. I took them off and put OEM ones on. I will go with OEM again when I need some. They work great.

I put these in a few weeks ago.
Organics.

I bought them because for that price who cares. They work fine but much more pressure needed on the front brake, I didn't change out the rear. Personally I don't like them. I much prefer 2 finger braking that I had with OEM's so they are going.
I now have these on order.
Sintered,

I should have them in next week and will let you know if I like them or going back to the much more expensive but awesome OEM's.

Ok these arrived...

I went for my Saturday ride and it was rather wet in places. I am happy to say that I am back to two finger braking.
Now I can't do a direct comparison to the original OEM's
as I have been running the organics for a month or more so I have got used to four finger braking but over all I am quite happy to be back to two.
I tried a couple of emergency stops and was quite happy to be grunting with effort to stop myself going over the bars with the abs chattering away nicely. No squeals or any bad behavior. The only thing I will say is they don't look like the ones in the picture. They have no slots cut in them, they are just a single smooth pad.
Pretty happy and am not looking to change them out for any reason at this point.

Thanks for the update I just bought a set of the OEM pads but will buy another set of those to have on hand
