Damn, it's getting hard to converse around here. I had no idea finding humor in misspelled words was the most rude thing one could do. I guess I'm going to have to start using "hildabeast", "liberal", "obummer" more in my dialog.  coolsmiley

But it's usually NOT done with humor.  It's usually, from what I've seen, done to disparage someone.  To make them look bad.  "I disagree with you and I'm better than you because you can't spell" is how many of those types of posts read to me.  I'm not seeing humor.

And you can use those terms if you like, if they fit in the conversation.  Has nothing to do with correcting someone's spelling when you know exactly what they're saying.
Loosing vs. tightening ? Is disparaging ?  Shocked

I have not been active on this site in a very long time. I came here yesterday to see what was new. Guess what, I ran across this thread. OMG I thought to myself, still the same ole CRAP from the same ole people, unfriggenbelievable! And yes I know that is not a real word, so don't even bother with corrections.

Attacking one's spelling, or punctuation, is, in my opinion, one of the most rude things you can do to someone trying to make a point here.   Who cares?  Why do you care?  Especially if after reading the post and you actually agree with it!

Did those who do this get anything out of it?  Was there a reward for pointing out grammatical errors?  Is someone keeping score?

Gary, well said  cooldude

I agree totally .  I recently miss-spelled a word and I was pounced upon faster than you can spell the word losing.   I feel that they are  showing their character, very rude behavior indeed  JMHO .  If I live long enough, I might possibly do that again,  sometime.   Maybe...but I am watching that more closely now.  It's all good.

Everybody ride safe. Another biker killed here, please be careful out there. They are NOT looking out for you.    Smiley

Lol....RD, I'm assuming you're referring to our recent conversation. I'll put it into context for our readers. I posted a tongue in cheek comment related to the thread, and it went on for a while with some good natured ribbing which was positively received.

That is until you decided to come in with a taunt that was uncalled for.  "Loosing sure does hurt, don't it .  Grin". To which I responded "Slamming someone usually gets a better result when it's spelled properly......just sayin'....."

I responded in kind, to which you replied... "I am an engineer baldo not an english major that is my wife's dept.  Seems like I remember you saying something about even a stopped clock being right twice a day.  You will just have to overlook my spelling  I do have a tendency to type too fast .  Actually they call me FF (Phat Fingered) I have big hands .  As usual you side step the point.   How about this, losing sure does suck for the losing side,...don't it .   2008 and 2012  sure was no fun for us deplorable's  So suck it up princess .  2funny

Roadog

So let's not play the game here that someone took it upon themselves to simply correct a common spelling error. As is usually the case, there's more to the story.... Smiley

          Baldo,
So you feel I was being rude when I said "so suck it up princess " . Maybe so but I was responding to your poking fun at me for my spelling error.  You know what they say about 'poking the bear' .   I felt like you were 'poking the bear'.  To show  disrespect over a miss spelling of a word.   So I responded in kind.  I felt like the miss spelling confused you so I was just making sure you understood what I was trying to say in my post , because you said nothing at all about the content  .  Not to worry. like I said  "it's all good" ,  we all have our passions and our politics .  We disagree most the time but that's ok ,  because we can .  Just say'in .   Smiley

Ride safe

It's been quite a bit better as of late. You happened to pick a thread that was marked 'political'. And that's what you got....kind of.

Not to be rude or corrective by any means, but I believe what Darksider is saying, and Darksider I know you already know this, but there is only one author of what we call the bible, and that is God. Although there were many writers, none of them were the authors, they were only the medium to right the words in there own words, guided by the holy spirit to say what God wanted to be said. At least that is what the Bible teaches. So yes, Gods word is written in stone, so to say,  It has never changed, and it never will.  Bingo!!
