'78 Honda CB750 for me!  What I understand was this was the first year on these bikes Honda used an alternator instead of the magneto for charging.   Whatever, it wasn't done right!!

This thing died sitting at an intersection one time too many and it wouldn't start!! not even a click out of the starter!

I was so PO'd if I would've had a can of gas and match I would've burned that POS to the ground right there!!!

Between this crap and a '81 Honda three wheeler that has inherent ignition problems (built into the bike) I swore off Hondas for good!!!

Until I bought the Valkyrie!

I had an 83 185S three wheeler that was bulletproof.  Flat our bulletproof.  Even for a 13 year old that ABUSED it like i did.

I've heard people say that about these things but not the one we got!  It's a pull start and you have to go through a certain sequence otherwise you'll wear yourself out just attempting to get it started.

I'll say once it is started you can do all kinds of things with it.  I've rigged a trailer hitch on it and pull a 16' lowboy around and I loaded a 8' trailer full of wood, pulled it uphill to where I have to lean way over the bars to keep the front end down.  Shoot it's nothing but motor and wheels w/posi-trac !!  But just trying to get it started...

Mine had to be my firist bike, a 69 BSA 441 victor special. It took me a month just to get the hang
of starting the thing. It had a compression release you had to push after you got the piston up on compressoin stroke or you couldn't kick the thing over. The vibration was so bad you coudn't stand
to ride it more than 15 minutes at a time.  In 1971 decided I was going to ride that Bastard Stops
Again out to California with a couple of friends. Made it far as Arizona  before the thing quite.
Right out in the middle of the Navajo indian reservation. Long story short got to Flagstaff with the bike
shipped it back to Ind. [mistake] hitched a ride home, rebuilt the engine on the thing and then traded
away on a Yamaha 650.  When you're 18 you don't always make the smartest choices. but hopefully
you learn from your mistakes. ... Still got nerve damage in my back from ridin that thing..

I'm another one that hasn't really had a bad bike. I've had ones that had some issues that needed attention, but mostly due to PO not caring properly for them. In order of owning them starting when I was 16 :  1973 Yamaha 650, 1977 Suzuki GS750,20 year  gap while newly married and more important things to spend money on, Then 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C50, 2000 Kawasaki Nomad 1500 Carbed, 1991 KLR 650, 2000 Kawasaki Concours 1000 and my 1997 Honda Valkyrie Tourer that I'll never part with .................... unless I find a good deal on an Interstate.......................  laugh

I jump started an Ultra Classic once with my 78 CB 750, you musta got a bad unit. By the way, I had a 75 Z-1B Kawasaki 903cc that handled like hell, needed tuned constantly, and burnt out the coils at 21,000 miles, which caught it on fire and burned it to the ground.  But I loved it cause it was so stinkin FAST!  Hoser

For me it would any of the Bikes I owned when lived in Illinois with dead Batteries

Why ?  Because Illinois for me was a short riding season, and 3 day weekends I would cherish them
and low and behold when the 3 day weekend came stores were closed and there I was with a dead Battery.
