Hey to all. I went to work yesterday, in my pick up truck, at 4:00 AM & it was 19 degrees out. There was a dusting of snow on the roads but mostly ICE. I took the freeway. Where I-25 goes into i-76 I saw a 7 car pile up in the curve of the ramp. There was a fire truck there & a couple of Colorado State Patrol cars & I saw one fireman waving a flashlight to passersby. I did not see any other people at all. Maybe they were in the police cars warming up. As I drove a little farther I saw more vehicles, mostly SUV's, off the side of the highway , some upside down. The thing that I don't understand is, this is Colorado...it started to rain before it turned cold then started to snow lightly but it turned real cold fast...that means the roads get real icy & slick. I have a Dodge Ram3500 dually & I drive about 45 MPH & I normally don't use the 4WD & I see SUV's coming around me doing 65 & 70 MPH. Then I see some of them slide right off the road in fornt of me. WOW!!! Like I said before, This is Colorado. It does this every year. What do you think about this??? Ride Safe.  IBA1990 tommy t

We get this same thing in Michigan at the first snow.  I see people in the ditch that I have seen on my way to work all year long.  Biggest reason this happens in my opinion is the same reason road rage happens.  Idiots, these days, use cell phones, put on makeup, shave, read the paper, yatta yatta yatta, all while driving.  I really wonder where society is heading when I see some of this happening on the road.  I assume these same fools do this kinda thing in all of their everyday lives, and are usually the first to tell you about some idiot they saw while coming into work that day.

In MN we can tell the 4x4s from the two wheel drives they are farther in the ditch and Tow truck guys say they always have to pull out more cable for the 4x4s
