She's been in the nursing home since Dec. 20 following four days in the hospital. Still doesn't have full use of the right arm, the break in the shoulder isn't fully healed and the dislocated upper arm hasn't fully returned back into the shoulder socket...but it's improving. Still a lot of pain if she forgets and uses it for something other than light stuff like eating/drinking. Also still unable to walk without assistance from another person, i.e., using a large web belt for them to hold on to for balance, etc. She also has to use a cane, hopefully she'll be able to use a walker when the shoulder is fully healed but that's at least another four months away. For the present, since I don't yet have the belt for assistance I just grab the waist of her jeans in back. I told her if she falls or stumbles she'll get a super wedgie....she's been walking better all the time. Guess she doesn't like wedgies.  Wink

She'll continue nursing care and rehab at home via some home health care. In the mean time, until she's back independently mobile like going to the bathroom without help getting there, I'm stuck at home 24/7 unless I get some custodial help. I'm OK with that, just happy to have her back home.  cooldude

Sounds like you will have your hands full, but I know you are glad to see her home. Keeping her in our prayers for a full recovery.

She said she was going to use the transport belt(gait belt) as a "get back" strap. Didn't know she was aware of what those are.  Grin

This evening was pretty rough for her. The tremors from her Parkinsons was especially bad which makes the injured arm shake. Result....lot of pain. I finally talked her into taking at least half a pain pill, Hydrocodone, and by the time I left she was calming down. Just hope it helps her sleep, I finally left at 10:00pm. Makes for a pretty long day.

I bought a baby monitor to use at the house. That way I can work in the shop and if she needs me then she can just say something and I can hear her. It's going to be a lot of work for the next few weeks.  Smiley

Absolutely, in so many ways. I got her home this morning, big job but worth it. She got real sick this afternoon, appeared to be from something she ate. She's been sleeping most of the day since we got here, glad to see it. Until we settle into a routine I'll just make myself available 24/7, we have home health nursing/PT coming in and also have the names of a few of the CNA's that want to help out at home. A couple have the personality of a snake, have no business being in the nursing care field. But there's 2-3 that we both have good relations with and will be calling on them down the road. Until then, I'm not leaving home. Glad she's back, just feels right.  cooldude
