Hello everyone. Petcock fell apart on my Valkyrie and I am in a time crunch to get another one. Will a petcock off a Harley or any other bike work on the Valkyrie or do I need to get an OEM one online? I have a trip planned and would need one by Friday to still be able to bring the bike. I figure if i could pick up something locally it would be my best bet, as long as i could find something that will work.

Thanks in advance for any help! I am located in Albany, NY.

Hey Matt, I have a rebuilt one on the shelf here. I'll get it to you before Friday, no charge except for postage. It was an experiment to see if I could rebuild one (yeah I am a piece of work). I did test it so it should work....no guarantees with free stuff though.  Smiley ...and if I ruin your trip don't hold it against me. Lol
Send me a PM with your address.

As a side, my dealer can get the parts (most) that I order on Monday, delivered by Thursday. I just don't tell him I need it in a hurry, and I play him against the online store prices, try to get a close match. Which in my case in Canada, is usually cheaper in the end, because no shipping costs.

That's because Honda has a warehouse in Vancouver (or thereabouts).  Parts don't come as quickly here.

Why don't you just take all the guts out of it, install an o-ring in the outer depression and clamp it all back together. Then block off the vacuum hole and drip hole with some JBKwik. Still can use the OEM chrome control and you now have a manual petcock. Just don't forget to shut off the gas every time you park it.

Good advice John. I am guessing that might be Matt's plan B if my workmanship isn't what I thought it was. Wink Hopefully he's headed south. It's supposed to be colder than a witches ... this weekend in upstate NY.

The actual metal part behind the chrome knob that twists has broken off so im in need of an entirely new petcock. the stock setup doesn't bother me, and ill definitely forget to turn it off when I park if I get rid of the Vacuum feature.

The trip planned is going to be very south. Im actually relocating on March 9th to Austin Texas for work and I am planning to tow the bike down there with an arrival date of March 11th in Austin. Than on March 12th leave on the Valkyrie and drive to Daytona bike week... Its going to be a long couple of days!

Just wondering. The only time I have heard of that part breaking is when someone tries to take the tank off without separating the switch from the valve (secret screw)  Is that what happened?
