Hi all,
Just thought I'd drop a note here....this BC boy will have a couple of days downtime in Florida the weekend of April 8-9, as I finish up attending a large trade show in Orlando the week prior then hang around to spend a couple days working with a distributor in Tampa the following week. I've never spent much time in Florida....always just in and out for work, so am looking for suggestions on things to do & see during my "free" weekend. Not a fan of typical "touristy" activities & sites, nor of the city... so any suggestions of small town/rural or otherwise unique things to see and do would be appreciated.

Cheers, and Thanks....Mike (msb)

Well we welcome you to Florida, I am not much help of the west coast attractions and unfortunately most areas are touristy. Unless you crave frogs, turtles and gators, then we can help you out !  there is a unique place in the "Hills" called Cottage de Sheffer which features anywhere from 2 to 20 Valkyries on any given weekend but it is not always open. Maybe some west coasters have better suggestions for you. Enjoy your time here.

I am not going to be much help either cause I live in The Mouse Town in central Florida, all tourist everywhere around here.

Beaches around the west coast are good, I like Siesta Beach with white sugar sand.
On any given Sunday there is a group of drum players and many other musical instruments that meet at the beach and go at it, pretty cool.

B /C BOY, if you rent a bike one or both days we could put a ride together and show you places that aren't in the tourist handbook.  cooldude. They rent Harleys in Tampa and we ride with Harley guys, even like a few of them  2funny

Something for you to think about, a lot more fun riding back roads than standing in lines coolsmiley

Yep, just a few hours ride. And even closer when we move even further away from urban living in about 3 weeks  Smiley
What town is your cousin in?

Beautiful spot....right between towns of  Kelowna and Vernon and in between Kalamalka and Okanogan Lakes. Also a real short distance to my favorite MC road out of the many spectacular ones in BC...highway 6 to and across Arrow Lake.
You should definitely pay your cousin a visit  Smiley
