If there were no Valkyrie or F6B, what would you ride? Milwaukee 8, or maybe a sport tourer? I just passed 10k miles on my Valkyrie, and have no plans to change, but it's fun to look at what's going on in the market.

Milwaukee what? Are you taking away my 1500 Valks as well? Are you taking away the full Wing option? If not there you go. Old valk and a wing.

I'd throw caution (and money) to the wind and give a BMW K 1600 B a whirl. If I had the money to throw to the wind.

Indeed, the BMW K1600 GT is a beauty I'm thinking of riding again a BMW R1200 GS which is incredible but not as reliable as the Valk The Diavel is so much fun to ride, not the new one, beautiful but not designed for twisty roads (pegs and bars are too advanced, you can't swing from one side to another) I prefer the old one. My buddy is so proud of the Diavel he has just bought that he keeps it at home

Instead of an Interstate Valk - a custom GoldWing Instead of a Valk Std - a V65 Sabre or a ST1300
For both in one the BMW 1600.

If there were no Valkyrie, what would you ride? That's an easy one. The 1st gen Vmax that is sitting beside the Valkyrie now. John

I realize this is only an in-line twin. But I could live with it.

Synchronizing the vacuum pull on those twins would be doable but require great effort.
I would be willing to take one for the team here if you would set it up. If that day ever comes, I'll make it work.

I would also ride the BMW 1600 as pictured if I could spend that much on any bike.

You can have your Suzuki 650 V-Strom as I had one , had to have it because of all the talk on how amazing they are , my opinion only , I wasted a year on a Suzuki 650 V-Strom , it's just a silly 650cc , very boring , does nothing amazingly does nothing good , just a 650cc , guess I am still bothered cuzz I spent a year on a silly Suzuki 650 V-Strom ,
Okay now , please do not take this post personally , for those who love the Suzuki 650 V-Strom It was the one time the hype on the forum talked me into buying something I wish I had not

With being really disappointed in the lack of hp on a CTX1300, which was the bike I originally wanted until I found out about the low hp. I would probably be driving a 1400 Concours if the valk had not been created. I was looking at the 1600 BMW until I heard about the crappy BMW service and the issues BMW has. I wanted another low maintenance bike like my old Interstate, but in a newer lighter bike. Nothing else out there really enticed me. I wanted something that I could use around town or take a trip cross country. Luckily, they made the new Valkyrie and i now have the best of both worlds with my modifications.

You really should have taken a test ride before basing an opinion solely on the dyno sheet. Yes, max hp on the CTX1300 was down from the ST1300, but it delivered more torque over a lower and wider range where you can actually use it in every day riding. I owned one (and unfortunately totaled it) before the Valk, and it had plenty of giddy-up. The only time you would miss the hp is if you like to hammer it in the upper RPMs, which isn't really where that style of bike shines. It was a joy to ride and a work of art to look at; responsive, good handling, great brakes, add the tall windscreen and you could comfortably cruise on it all day long, but it was nimble enough to be a great around-towner and commuter. It really was a shame Honda didn't market it better, because it could have been a complete package for a lot more people. It was my favorite bike at the time -- might still even nudge out the Valk for overall usefulness, that jury is still out.
