Livin' the Valk, er, F6B life in Central Florida.

Silver Springs, Florida

We are back from our weekend trip up to Savannah. We had a great time, only rain was Saturday night after we were in for the night. We took all backroads US-301 to Callahan FL, hopped over to 17/25 via SR200-A1A at Yulee FL. All the way on 17/25 'til we jumped on I-95 just south of the Savannah Airport.  We stayed out by the Airport just off of I-95 & rode into Savannah proper Sunday morning. Parked the Valks & took the tour bus.
No way were we going to try to navigate the cobblestone streets with those steep grades!!

Spent most of the day down by the Riverfront.

We walked these STEEP steps to gat to the top of the "bluff". Didn't do Kim's bad knee any good!

We left Savannah & rode out to Tybee Island to eat late lunch at "The Crab Shack".
Very good seafood in a unique setting, all outdoor dining except for some screened rooms.

Our view while dining. Temps in the 80's with a gentle breeze.

The obliglitory bike photo.

As we rode back off the Island to Savannah I just had to ride into South Carolina over that cool looking Savannah River bridge, Hwy 17.

We then rode back to the Hotel, hopped on I-16 to I-95 & got back quickly. Parked the babies & hit the pool and hot tub!!

We came back today because the weather looked like it was turning bad & we have a million things to do around the house. Gotta get ready to head over to the condo on the St. Johns River in Astor for Biketoberfest Wed. evening.
We will be going back for sure sometime to see what other things the Savannah has to offer!  cooldude

I see you made it to the crab shack.  Every time we go to Savanah we will spend an afternoon at the crab shack. This time of year is the best...go at noon on sat., eat, drink and watch college football. I have stayed till midnight!
