Tap it out to a slightly larger size. That Galveston salt air is hard on bikes.  Shocked

You could get a Heli-coil kit for that size bolt, if you want to keep the stock size. A bit more work, as you have to drill and tap it for the coil, then insert the coil.

He should be good in that area, pretty far from the coast, Galveston is about 8 miles from me.
My Bike spent 17 years in Houston (garaged), no corrosion to speak of except on the lower fork legs, which I polished.

You say you stripped the bolt??? Just get another bolt.
If you mean the welded on nut on the back-side of the bracket, like Blackduck said, longer bolt with a nut on it.
