The Pioneer Flight Museum (
www.pioneerflightmuseum.org) is having their Spring Fly-in and Carshow on May 6th.
It is located in Kingsbury Tx, which is west of Seguin, just north of I10.
The field is kinda a replica of a WW1 airfield (or Aerodrome) and it caters to WW1 Aircraft and vehicles (motorcycles, ambulances, work trucks, etc…).
Myself and a buddy biked it up there for the first time for their fall fly-in last November. Great show!!
And a great ride to get there!
Kingsbury is in the middle of nowhere but the two lane FM roads to take you there are really good cruising roads.
Last Nov the weather was great and I’m hoping it will be the same in May.
There were a lot of Bi-planes, homebuilts, experimentals, and newer planes. Even a couple of Gyrocopters.
Probably 30-40 vehicles in the car show.
There is food and drinks, unfortunately no beer is sold there but I’ve seen people drinking in the P/lot so I guess you can bring your own. However, about 5 miles up the road there is a little country bar that has good cold beer.
There is no charge to get in but there are people at the entrance taking donations. (IMO it’s well worth a donation)
Looking at their website this has been going on for 10-12 yrs but we just found out about it this past summer. Maybe others here have been before…
