Far North Chicago Burbs'

Okay, weather finally warmed up enough since mid last Feb. at my 10/20. Had a weekend of typical homeowner/yard/early spring work to do...However, Sunday I finished early...saw the threat of rain and said...ah *uck it...I'm goin'..  (you know how it is...the need to ride like a need to ...ah, well you know, what your old lady is for)  anyway...  grabbed my helmet...fired her up (which happened instantly) from her six week rest...  Set tire pressures at 37psi front, 41 rear, suspension turned two clicks up from the bottom...  Got some fresh gas...and here we go...

Was planning on a short ride, but man, the pavement was cool and sticky, the motor was pulling hard and smooth, makin' big ponies in the cool air...  The quick ride turned into a..."wow..this is amazing...lets go further" ride... The sound, man like a finely tuned European sports car...   Wow, blasting out of turns...passing cars...  rapidly to 110mph, NO PROBLEM, with the motor still pulling hard...  out in the country, back roads.....  Stopped at a buddie's house way west of Harvard Illinois..country, cop free, traffic free roads...  Hadn't seen him in awhile...so we sat down to chat over a cold Guinness...

Shortly after I noted light rain starting, pulled up some radar loops on my phone and saw a large, thick band of rain just to our west heading east...  Bid him goodby, donned my helmet and gloves, and took off east back home..  WOW...I was hittin' her at times with everything she had, and MAN did that bike DELIVER the GOODS.   I was cruising at 92mph on back roads with frequent 3 digit blasts...  Got home in 15 mins. in which normally is a 45 minute cage drive.

That bike is *ucking amazing...   cooldude

Yep, did a 6 hour pleasure cruise yesterday and my only complain was I need a cruise mechanism of some kind. I think I'll get one old those palm doodads.

I was really tempted to get out today, but I can still see salt on the roads, so we didn't go out.  Rain is forecasted this week and higher temps.  Maybe we will get out next weekend.

I finally got out for my first ride of the season today. Only about 40 minutes, cos it's still a little chilly for my liking, and Jesus that first ride of the year quickly reminds me that I need to get into 'riding shape' after the long winter off. But it was nice to get out on the local jaunt around the rreservoir and a few back roads. Wednesday is looking like the next doable day of the schedule allows.
