Can I use a volt meter to check the wiring.

If there's a break in the wiring will the meter not register whatever it should register?

I was thinking I could place one probe at a sleeve connector and the other probe at the other sleeve connector???

If one sleeve connector goes to + power, and the other to ground, then yes, that would be how I would test it, with the meter set to Ohms. If, however, you have power AND ground at both sleeve connectors, then they may not measure through from one sleeve to the other. You should be able to measure Ohms from + to - (gnd), as the heating element is a resistor.
If you know the Watt rating of the heater, divide by 164 by that number to get the reading in Ohms to expect. For example, if the Watt rating is 50W, you should measure nearly 3 Ohms.

Aren't the sleeve connectors for plugging in heated gloves ? Seems like he should check the resistance at the power plug in ?

Yes, it should be at the power in. Which should be either the 2 pin, or the circular one.

You are saying check the resistance of the heated apparel right?  That is, check the gloves, or the jacket for impedance.  My setup also has a controller but it's digital so that is bypassed in the check.  I thought he was asking about checking the circuit on the bike, which for my bikes, would be using the voltmeter or even a test light to ensure power & ground exist.  Of course the meter also indicates polarity.  I guess the "sleeve connector" comment clarifies that - though on my Warm-N-Safe gear I would check it at the control connector plug on the hem of the jacket liner as the gloves are wired in series.  I use my bike plug-ins as a convenient plug-in for battery chargers - with the appropriate plug mounted on my smaller chargers.

Exactly what problem are you trying to troubleshoot?  Whole jacket not heating?  Part of it not heating?  Blowing fuses?  Gloves connected to the sleeves not heating?  The problem determines what to test at which points.

It seemed odd that the power would enter at the sleeves, but you never know ...
It does make more sense that the sleeve connectors should power gloves, but without proper data, we can only guess. A link to the actual item in question would go a long way in giving troubleshooting guidelines.
