This bike man, wow, it just keeps getting better...  I simply cannot believe how much smoother and more powerful it is at 8500 miles as opposed to what it was when it was brand new. Amazing...  Dialing down the suspension made a HUGE difference in ride comfort/stability.  It still snaps like a sport bike...yet has the straight line stability you'd expect from a long wheel based machine.  Plus, I love how it doesn't get blown around that easily in cross winds.

Rode with a friend yesterday whom bought a Harley Softail  Breakout with the screaming Eagle thing..whatever...tons of chrome, 30K bike...  My Valkyrie ATE that thing like it was a butter cookie...  He is a really old friend, and he kept trying to sell me on his bike...  I didn't have the heart to tell him that his bike looked like a mini bike next to mine, and that I DO NOT like Harleys, never have...and especially now...  that Valkyrie motor is 100 times superior...the whole bike is...

It IS the most amazing machine I have ever rode...the engine is world class...and it's a smooth, smooth rocket man...  I live in Harley country up here...my bikes stands out and I am so proud of it... I smoke EVERYTHING on the road...  It's really an engineering master piece...  The suspension, the brakes man, and the way it sounds...  I just cannot say enough good things about the bike.  I cannot believe they didn't sell more of them.  I am really starting to bond with it...standing on the pegs, rolling the throttle in sweepers...man...amazing!

Great shot  cooldude

Went out to the cane fields again and took a pic by one of the pump stations. It was so nice and quiet and a breeze about 75 degrees
These bikes just go and it felt so good with the new tires.

Then was driving and this perfect old Ford was next to me

Like a sport bike ?! Alas, mine has 63,000 km on the clock and whenever there is a little bump in the twist, I must reduce the speed because the bike goes wild. I plan to change the oil fork pretty soon, I hope I won't have to change the springs  Embarrassed

Waaahhh??? Must have bad tires or something...this bike for me is about as solid as it gets...  TURNING back the suspension was HUGE...eliminated wheel hop...

When you adjusted the rear shock how much did you have turn it to get the more comfortable ride?
I just recently purchased my bike and would appreciate any advice on improving the ride. I might add that I love my Valkyrie.
Thanks

I love the howl. Winding it out in 1st, 2nd and 3rd (if there's room), I just love how that motor howls when it gets up around 4k. It's amazing how one bike can be as docile as a kitten, or unleash it and it's as wild as a cheetah.

Hi Mike,

I have my rear suspension dialled all the way down to the first notch.  It is really nice now to ride.  Not so harsh anymore.

Hey Mike,
I have mine turned down two notches up front the bottom. I could probably go lower, but I usually put my girlfriend on my bike in which it is perfect for that much weight.  It really depends on how much you weigh.  I weigh around 180lbs so where I have it *might* be just a tad high, but I love how the bike handles with it set there.  One thing is for sure, if you have it set as tight as it will go and you weigh under 300lbs it's gonna be a stiff ride!  Turning back the suspension improved the ride 100%.  Also, the stock tires leave little to be desired...most will agree.  Put on a set of Michelins and the ride AND performance improves 100%  I simply cannot stress this enough.

Adrian, Don't forget to mention the Lucas 10W-30 Synthetic oil also. I had been running 10W-40 synthetic in my F6B(The manual pretty much gives ya a choice)but after reading your praises of the Lucas 10W-30 I thought I would give it a try even though it wasn't due for an oil change. All I can say is Holy Crap! The engine revs so much quicker and the tranny shifts smoother too. Thanks for the tip.  cooldude

Ha, that is AWESOME! cooldude  I am so glad it worked out for you.  Now I can feel more confident in that I may not be as nutz as I previously thought.  You are right though...Lucas Oil, Michelin tires...set to 37psi front, 41 rear, ETHANOL free gas...or at least treat the ethanolated gas with a fuel conditioner..and the bike is supremely awesome...  Oh, and miles too....  I noticed after bridging the 8K milestone the engine just got more powerful and smoother...  I adore this bike...the way it sounds too as the pipes break in...

I need to load the video up but I subjected the Valk to a little impromptu adventure biking.

It did not enjoy it. This bike needs asphalt or it becomes a demon to control. I couldn't go over 20 mph without the front getting squiffy.
