Bruce ( DDT ) sent me a e-mail tonight and he scored a motel room at ground zero . You don't see DDT post much on the board but as far as I know he has the most miles on a Valkyrie that I know of.I did'nt think to ask him but its somewhere around 400,000 miles. Proud to have you join us Bruce I'm looking forward to shootin' the chit with you around the fire  cooldude

Original engine?    What problems has he incurred during 400,000 miles?

I can tell you some of the things Bruce has changed from conversations years ago.  Front fork seals,3 alternators, he used the Gold Wing replacement, rear differential a couple of times, quite a few tires and I remember him saying that he used to get turkey basting pans to change oil in the parking lot of a motel.  He may have changed the oil 55 times.
As far as I remember the engine is original.

I first met Bruce in Pigeon Forge when I was a  "Valk Newbie". At that time, he had about 60,000 miles on his & I thought that was amazing for the short time he had owned it. Needless to say, a lot of tarmac has passed under the wheels since that time. I last saw him at one of the Paducah Inzanes. Yep, he can tell a story for sure. I wish he would write a book, I'm sure it would be difficult to put down once you started reading.

he lives about 15 miles from me now (that's so weird saying that....he was always living out of his bags on his bike for YEARS!). He's still a little under 400k...i think a bit under 390k. saw him at  a party on Sunday.

yes, his engine IS ORIGINAL!

But you guys can ask him all the questions when ya' see him in the flesh! cooldude
