Tim wanted to let you all know of his mothers passing. He was one of the early members of VRCC.

It is with great sadness that I must tell you that Devon Samosa passed away on Monday 12 October after losing a battle with her declining health. Devon was loved and will be missed by her family and friends .

The family will be offering a celebration of Devon’s life on Sunday 18 October 2009 and everyone is invited to attend. We will be remembering Devon’s life and wonderful moments shared with family and friends, who are all encouraged to share during the service.

The service will be held on Sunday from 10am thru 2pm in the Pearls Room in the Warner Center Marriott hotel. http://www.marriott.com/hotels/trave...oodland-hills/ We will be providing a lunch during the celebration and discounted rooms are available for out of towners who wish to attend. Parking is free to attendees.

If possible please let us know before Friday 4pm if you plan to attend and how many (both local and out of town).

In lieu of flowers, Devon would appreciate a donation to one of her favorite organizations in her name:

The West Valley YMCA :

http://www.ymcala.org/westvalley/give >>Specify for the “Campership Fund”

Emergency Animal Rescue:

Los Angeles Police Department

Out of Town Guests:

There are two airports that are convenient to Warner Center, Los Angeles International (LAX) and Burbank International (BUR). Warner Center is about 25 miles from LAX and 19 miles from BUR.

You may chose to rent a car, or take the Super Shuttle service. http://www.supershuttle.com/ Super Shuttle will pick you up at either airport and take you to the Marriott. From LAX it’s $29 one way. From BUR, $23. Reservations for the return need to be made through the Marriott.

For overnight accommodations, we suggest you stay at the Warner Center Marriott. They are providing our guests a discounted rate of $109 per night. You’ll need to book your room directly with Diane Friedland, Senior Sales Manager, Warner Center Marriott. Let Diane know you’re with the Samosa event. Her hours are 9am-6pm PDT, phone # is 818.227.6103. She said feel free to leave a message for her as well and she’ll return your call to complete your reservation.

There are other hotel options in the Warner Center area including Hilton, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn.

We're sorry to hear of the loss of your mother Mosa. It sounds like she was a busy person that was invovled in many peoples lives. I'm sure she will be missed by many.

I don't think it's possible to prepare one's self for the loss of their mother, may peace be with you too.
