I have a 99 black/silver Valk and found tourer hardbags for it.  Cheesy  Unfortunately they are a different color,  so i am having them repainted.  Bit the bullet and handed over lots of hard earned cash to colorrite to get the paint right (I'd like to be in THAT business...). Only thing that worries me is the dark red/maroon colored pin stripe that the black/silver came with.  Not sure how to replicate that on the hardbags for a perfect match to the bike.  Do you know what color that pinstripe is? Or any ideas what i should do?

Not on a match, but it isn't beside anything else, so I would think no one but you would notice the slight difference.

Keep cost down by just painting the bag fully black.

Or, do it yourself with a Plastic spray (plastic wrap). It is now available from multiple paint manufacturers, and different colors. Do it wrong, don't like the color? peel and redo.

My IS is a black one, which was custom painted to match the tourer bag style. I figured the original owner liked the black/silver tourer, and since the IS wasn't offered in that color, he had it painted his way.

I have a 99 silver/black too.  I damaged the maroon stripe on it and tried to find a touch up paint to repair the stripe.  I thought I found one but it didn't match.  We're probably  too fussy with our bikes.
The bike needs a total repaint.  I'm considering a wrap.  There's a place not too far from here.  $?

I have a problem visualizing the plastic wrap thing,  probably have to see it in person sometime. Thanks!

I've been looking for a video that shows some examples of what I was talking about.
I talked to a girl who works at one of these places after seeing what her car looked like.  Seems most of what is done is on business vehicles.
I've gone another route with a taped pinstripe.  If you can find a close match,  run the stripe all of the way on your tank.  If the color is a little of from the rest of the bike you may not notice the difference from the other parts.
