Read Dags post yesterday about the Millau so just had to dig out pix taken on a trip to the area back in 06. It's some bridge - no sensation of height when you ride it, the wind barriers are too high to get a good look down. The builders should have built a visitor park on the ridge to see it in all its glory but get below and its an overwhelming structure.
We stayed in the Tarn Valley for a few days - recommended - scenery, roads food and wine superb

It is hard to imagine that you wouldn't have a sensation of height when you're up on that bridge, but it could happen.
From the ground the barriers don't stand out as obtrusive. So how tall are the wind barriers?

Just out of curiosity, when driving through Europe how many other countries besides England drive on the "wrong side of the road"?  Smiley

Barriers (from memory) are over head high, you can see thro gaps but not directly down. We cross the Severn Estuary from England to Wales most weekends where there is a choice of 2 bridges both a couple of miles long. The old one is a single span suspension with no wind barriers the new multi span with barriers.
The old one closes regularly to high sided vehicles and motorcycles whilst you can still ride the new.
Good fun riding the old tho, 200 feet up and a good lean into the prevailing wind even the Valk moves around.
Oh yes we are the only country in Europe that drives on the left no problem adjusting to other side usually use the tunnel to France where you are carried thro by rail. As you ride off loads of warning signs and arrows but first roundabout allways strange.
