Had mine chromed (special process over plastic) last year by folks in Santa Clara, CA. I think called CLASSIC CHROME. Was $170 for the pair. Very well done, not like plastic. Remove grommets before sending to them, tho. Flawless.

I've seen some that were rechromed that had a noticeable yellow/gold tint to them. I don't know who did the work.
