Anyone have any expierience or suggestions for installing these? I ran into a problem...

The Rivco's use the two frame bolts that tie the rear to the main frame, stock ones have their own single attachment point.  When I removed the two bolts, the rear became unsprung and the holes are winking.  I'm in the process of using the lift, jacks, c clamps etc.. to try and get them aligned.  At this point, I can't get the stock bolts back in, let alone see how the Rivco's will be able to be installed together.

Any wizdom gratefully appreciated
Thanks guys

You might remove the rear shocks but I am guessing.

I think I know what it is. I loosened the exhaust bolts, but not the bag crash bar bolts.   Maybe the bar is holding tension and prevents the bracket to rotate enough.   I'll try Taking them off tomorrow.  I just crawled under it again and suddenly saw it differently

Thanks

Recently took some off to sell (see classifieds).  I just used my biggest phillips screwdriver to align the holes enough to get the OEM bolt back in.   cooldude

Ha..funny you should mention that

I attempted the same thing, kinda got it, not quite. Decided to persuade it with torque on the small amount of engagement I could get.

Thread chaser (M10x1.25) on the way   tickedoff  2funny

And I KNEW it would go down like that when I grabbed the wrench

Not seeing what the fender rails have to do with passenger boards.  But if you need to align the fender rails bolts it's really simple if you have two people.

With the bike strapped securely to the lift and the rear off the ground simply have one person lift the fender around the area of the sissy bar until the holes line up and the other person start the bolts

He was referring to the frame bolts that are used to secure the Rivco passenger floorboards, not the fender rail bolts.

Don't those boards mount to the two bolts for the little mounting bracket the exhaust hangs on.  I can't imagine those two bolts being that much trouble.

The bracket has a total of 6 holes.   Two at the front that attach to the frame, two that hang the exhaust,  one for the stock peg and one that secures the bag guard rail.  I loosed them all except this last one and tension in the rail caused the bracket to be misaligned at the front.  Loosened that rail bolt and was able to line it up fine.
