why fight evilbay for low price bikes, when they are popping up cheap everywhere?
If I had a little extra cash, I'd go after this one myself. My wife would like it, so I probably shouldn't show it to her.
They are getting cheaper.

There are some better deals out there than that hacked up rat bike....IMO.

But of course, if you are looking for a rat bike...thats cool too, but seems like a little much for a rat bike.

Well considering its the 97 through 2000 models that are going for 5 grand thats really not bad. Not to mention Thats not all of them these are the deals. I would like to see how many sport bikes are out there that hold any value at all. Grin

I bought mine in September for $5600. 97 with 7800 miles. Had light bar, saddlebags, corbin seats with backrests, glasspac mod, wind shield.

Awesome machine.

I'd only note that evidence of how badly Valkyries are holding their value is not unmixed good news.

What a statement. I have no idea what it means. What the heck is "not unmixed good news"? Is that not good news or is it not bad news.

I was looking at the comsumer report the other day, they listed ten cars such as the Lincoln Town car and Dodge Durango that were worth 18% of their purchase price after 5 years. Valks are still holding their own. I not selling mine for quite awhile anyway.

Simply noting that the celebration of bargains that preceded my comment were probably less welcome to folks who sold those bikes. Since I have no intention of selling my Valk, it doesn't affect me one way or the other. But for many of the folks on this board knowing that the value of their bikes has dropped substantially is not good news, especially if they face the prospect of an insurance claim.

I hear you puffs daddy. On the other hand, there are obviously allot of really nice lightly used Valks out there.

Given these economic times, these prices allowed me to continue to ride, something most of us would have a hard time doing without. I sold my 2007 BMW R1200GSA that I had payments on and was having a tough time affording due to income reduction, and I was able to purchase my Valkyrie.

The people on this forum are much more "my kind" than the Beemer group, and my bike is something I enjoy 1000% more at 1/4 the price. Who knew I would gain so much?

Guys who are buying these bikes at the lower prices are "making them their own" over time, which hopefully prolongs the availability of good aftermarket parts for our bikes for a long time to come.

Plus, many of us will ride allot more than the original owners did.

Once you ride a Valkyrie, it's a hard bike to ever think of selling anyway. You stated that yourself. If you ever had a claim, you would find a replacement bike at a price less than the KBB or Edmunds suggested value, so, you should be money ahead so to speak.
