Hard to say if you're hearing what I'm hearing, but I just ignore it
and expect that the motor will run forever...

Oil.  Either wrong weight or wrong fill level.

Do an oil and filter change and make sure both are correct.  That should cure your issue, if not then have the dealer check it out.

Check oil, if all good it prolly needs a little running in. You should have warranty left, 3 years from original purchase date, transfers to any owner.

The Valkyrie has shims under buckets. Normal, from time to time.

It is normal on all of the GL1800 engines. This has been discussed at length on the F6B board. The ticking you hear are the injectors and it is perfectly normal but it seems to be louder on some than others.

I agree, it happened with mine and I decided to let some time pass without doing something with it and it has gone away. Most of the times it was just after I started it sometimes at the end of a run. Not loud but noticeable.

I remember this even happening with the 1500 some guys reported.

Old thread, but to those newer Valkyrie owners...

I have the same valve tick sound. Most noticeable on cold start, obviously as oil has not circulated to where it needs to be. Same symptoms, sometimes very loud, sometimes barely noticeable. Sometimes can't here it at all. After warmed up, blip the throttle and it goes away. Maybe I just need to blip my throttle more Smiley
