It was dubbed the "Transformer" when it first came out.   uglystupid2

And on the other hand, inspired by some of the 1800 owners, I give you:

                                  THE LOG TRUCK

Ooo... that's mean! I think it is funny to call it The Log Truck, I have to
wonder if the fellow who compared his 1500 to a log truck after he
got his F6B had something wrong with his 1500... mine's AWESOME.

I like it pretty appropriate.

The Mattel comment came from some dude on the FB Valk forum...absolutely hates the new Valkyrie...says it's not a real Valkyrie...debate ensued, but fortunately stayed non personal.....

Personally, I never looked twice at the old Valkyrie, thought it was dumpy...but then I was a vtwin guy, now that I have the new Valk, I like the old one more....  What would be cool is sort of a mix of the old and new together, but that will never happen....  It is getting so incredibly competitive in the bike world...and HD OWNS the cruiser segment...sad really..

Meanwhile I will continue to enjoy my smooth rocket ship from Mattel! Wink

I wonder how many bought the new Valk because it had the name on it

I bought it for the motor , too bad it was designed for aging  sport bike riders
I am a cruiser

My considerations for buying my 1500 Valk was the saftey, reliability, speed, power, comfort, and looks. in changing to the 1800 none of that changed but included handling and increased power. I love the engineering on the bike something the 1500 was great at but just by design was not as sophisticated as the 1800.

The concept has never changed on the design of the Valk and if you want to say which one the 1500 or the 1800 stays more true to the Goldwing/Valkyrie design I would think it would be the 1800. Because the 1500 didn't use the swing arm nor the frame of the Goldwing but went further out on the design changes. I'm sure the original Valk left up to Honda would have looked more like the Wing and been consistent with the 1800 design.

When I bought my 1999 Valkyrie Interstate in 2004, I bought it because I loved the look.  It had old school styling with a Goldwing engine.  What more could you want for touring and we did a lot of touring on that bike.
In 2015, I decided that I wanted something lighter, since my wife was riding her own.  When I first saw the new Valkyrie I was intrigued and liked the look, but didn't really like the ergonomics.  I was set on a CTX1300.  Once I saw the CTX in person and found out the HP & torque numbers, I was not impressed.  My wife told me that I would not be happy with it and to just get the new Valkyrie and make the modifications to it to suit me.  My wife is very wise.  Grin
