So I have an ongoing ad in my local online classifieds for any Valkyrie parts, just for the heck if it.
I just got a call from a guy who has what he thinks is a stock unmolested (piggies intact) exhaust from a Valkyrie. He bought from some guy it for some 6 cyl Honda bike he was working on thinking they'd fit but they didn't.
Anyways, he said I could have them for $100.
He looked and there is a part number on them, it says Sankei 2370 on them underneath. Mine say Sankei 2345. I have a Tourer. Is it possible these are from an Interstate or something? They sure look like Valk pipes.
Could someone go look under yours and tell me if you see a 2370 so I can see if these are indeed from a Valk?
Edit: he texted me a pic and it looks like the tips are horizontal like on the Interstate. They are all the same though, right?
Thanks.

Just checked my Interstate. They are Sankei 2370. Jump on them. If it matters, my Standard is 2345.

Thanks meathead. There's absolutely nothing wrong with mine...but you know, it's all about stock piling parts. If nothing else, I think they'd look badass on the wall of the garage...or the living room. I think i remember reading that Interstate pipes fit on the Tourer, right?

I think buying unmolested pipes, you can't go wrong. I don't need pipes either but I'd grab them in a heart beat. Now if they had been modified, probably not. Piggies intact, no Ragnar cut, HELL YEAH !

Yeah I asked him to look in the tips to see if the pipes were in there and almost to the end of the tips and no holes drilled. He said they were intact.

Almost always the first thing guys do is cut the piggies. Then go from there. Once you get them you should try them on your bike. Personally, I think the Interstate pipes look better with the bags.

I dunno man. I don't have much luck with "simple" things on bikes. I just put on some Genmar risers to get the bars a bit closer on account of my TRex arms. I found my throttle cables were pretty tight. Upon further inspection, the sheath of 1 cable also had a pretty bad crack in it where the bend is by the triple tree, figured I better replace them. Ordered new cables. Upon replacing them, I found out that the previous owner, when he added a throttle lock, broke one of the plastic pieces where the cables attach. Had to order a new throttle assembly. A simple job turned into a PITA. I guess it was better to find these things out in he garage than on the road, but still. I'm sure I'd snap an exhaust stud or 6 if I swapped it out for the heck of it.

Besides, it's just my opinion about them looking better on with bags. I'm sure many like the Standard pipes better. Something else to consider. I'm sure there are many out there with molested pipes that would pay a handsome fee for unmolested in good shape. Regardless, I don't see how you go wrong with the purchase.

Even if they were completely gutted Ragnar style, I'd pay a franklin for them.
I repaired a set recently and they sound great.
You can tell how good, when a couple of yard tree mechanics stop what their doing, to see what's coming.
Scoop em up.
