Hello everyone,

This is not my picture I copied from the net and indicated where the starter jets  were located so they would not be confused with the main jets or the slow jets slow jets

3 of the starter jets on one side(2, 4, 6) are clogged and I need help with what size  tool or wire should be used to clear the blockage…chemical treatments will not work

I understand I have to disassemble all the carburetors and make sure not to penetrate any of the diaphragms on the other side…

I could really use some help … The jets are so clogged it's very hard to determine what size tool or implement may be used to clear these  severely clogged jets…a liquid treatment will not work at this point

Thank you, in advance for your time and consideration any help will be greatly appreciated

Never been into those, possibly use  a bristle from a Nylon brush or a single strand of wire from a copper cable.
You do not want to use anything hard that can damage the jet.

Never been there either.  Also, never needed a ultrasonic cleaner, but seeing as your taking them apart anyways and if the carb bodies will fit, maybe one of those will do it.

Are those jets press fitted?  No chance of pulling them out?

I worked on a set where 5 out of 6 were clogged. I used a syringe filled with orange crud cutter from tractor supply. It only took a few tries forcing the fluid with the syringe to bust it loose. Worked great

Hello everyone,

Blackduck, Hook#3287, and Chrisj CMA.…

Thank you,  for taking the time to read, analyze, and contribute to the solution of my problem

Chrisj CMA that is a great idea and solution

I'm trying to proceed with great vigilance preventing damage to the starter jet because it is pressed in,  I don't know the size of the orifice, and/or  what lies on the other side of the blockage…

Hence my hesitancy to proceed without asking a few more silly questions…

What size needle did you use?

Can the needle be completely inserted through the starter jet or are there holes similar to the pitot tubes on the main jets

How much pressure did you have to apply when first inserting the needle… I would hate to have it break while I am performing the suggested procedure

Thank you,

Whiskey Bravo

NO NEEDLE just the syringe. Press the plastic tip on top of the hole and force the fluid in. Let it set for 15 min or so and force it in again.
