Just got a 2000 Interstate. Low mileage.
Radio will not play thru speakers.
If you swap from headphone back to speaker it will POP in the speaker for 1/10 of a second.
Anybody else ever had this problem before?
Right now I am wondering if it is the switch......

there is a function switch on the outside of the radio controls cluster close to the mirror. Can't remember and will look at mine but if that switch is set to aux. then you need to push it for radio.

"radio will not play through the speakers"

Will it play through the headphones?  Or does it just not play anywhere?

Is the radio station showing on the display (you can see by changing the channel up or down to get past the clock showing).  Or press the clock button on the right side of the control cluster.  If it's showing Aux, press the button on the left side of the cluster until the radio station shows.  Make sure the headphone symbol is not showing on the display.  If you do all this and still don't have sound, then you have a problem as you've done all the eazy stuff.

Play around with the selector switches.  I never remember how mine works.  I just figure it out on the fly.

Problem found...... solved.
Took switch connector apart under the fairing. Connector had moisture inside.
Bike has been "HOME" for 2 weeks. The last 100 miles getting her home was in the rain.... the last 20 was in the "Rain from Hades".
Dried moisture from connector... Placed electrical grease into connector.
Turned radio on....... Ahhhhhh   Speakers work now.....
Thanks to all for your inputs....

Are the speaker original, if they are they don't like water on or in them. I just installed water proof speakers and a 300 watt amp in my interstate. I Like my country and disco loud.  Shocked
Front 4.5 inch & rear 4 inch.

Huh????  ???

I thought they would be water proof (marine grade) speakers. After all, they are out there in all weather.

I did pick up a inexpensive pair of marine speakers I'm intending to swap them out with, but only because of wanting something a little newer and hopefully better quality than 18 year old ones and 100K miles.

Speakers and the amp are all water proof
front speakers came from amazon they were "Show Chrome" 4.5"

rear speakers I purchased at "Best Buy's" they are Pioneers 4"

amp was from Amazon 300 watt with volume control ( limits the amount of amplification)
