Wonderful daughter gave me a video camera to mount on the bike for my trips this past Christmas.

As the bike has been out of commission I have not bothered with doing anything with it.

However, as the Inzane trip approaches I thought about mounting in the car for this trip and getting myself familiar with the camera, its mounts, and buttons, etc.  Have been doing that these past couple weeks and am now asking for assistance.

I am interested in who has found video editing software that is simple, and free.  Not sure what all I may do with it but I can only experiment and see how far I want to take it, but, I sure do not want to bore everyone with hours of blah video.

Thanks in advance.

I'm certainly no expert. But I've been using Windows Movie Maker.

I found that good (the one with windows 7) but after the crash on my laptop I cant get it back on as they no longer support it Sad

So I also am looking for a new program

I didn't know that. Hopefully mine won't crash. Learning new computer stuff is taxing on an old man.

I was gonna say MS Windows Video Maker as well, didn't know they'd nuked it. I did a cursory search for a stale download of it but didn't find anything that looked safe.

Supposedly Microsoft will have a new movie maker app out this fall, but kinda odd they killed the old one off entirely BEFORE the replacement was ready.

Took about 30 seconds to find using google.

http://www.windows-movie-maker.org/

Downloaded it, scanned it, installed it, scanned it again, no issues and looks identical to the default program.

I tried that one, nothing popped up on my scanners but it blew a ton of errors for me trying to install it and wouldn't work so I didn't post it, but if it works go for it, that's a decent simple solution...

I use Lightworks Redshark ( https://www.lwks.com/ ) but it is not for the faint of heart.  The only reason I use it instead of one of the free programs is that it is the only free program that will strip out the audio tracks.

Here's a suggestion for a simpler solution: http://www.komando.com/downloads/615/free-video-editing-software

Have you checked to see if the camera has editing software for free?  Maybe there's a link provided in the manual to download some.

I use iMovie and sometimes DaVinci Resolve.
