I want to dress up the lic plate area. Anyone have any pics on what they did? I have a 'oversized' plate surround that I had to modify to fit on the oem mounts. Also how do you adjust the turn signals. Mine is a little crooked, as you can see in the pic.

How about this?

I took off the old support for the frame and had a old license plate drilled 2 holes in it where the old support attached and put on the old plate to the plate support in the rear assembly. Then attached the new plate on top of the old with the screws provided in the new frame and I hate to say it the frame is the Harlely plain chrome frame installed, that with clear lens and led lights you cannot even see the old plate behind the new and gives a very clean appearance. I had a bit of thought about taking off the reflectors but with the leds there is so much light back there if you cant see that you wont see anything Grin Whats nice is except for 2 holes in the old plate all the holes are already drilled for you so its a breeze to do. If you don't have a old plate get a small sheet of galvanized steel and cut it to shape. If you look from the top all you see is the back of the old plate so it gives no indication how its hanging there and its so thin it all fits in the frame so there's no unsightly edges to look at. The frame has no lettering on it just a plain chrome frame.Harley also has a chrome mouting plate that you could use instead of the sheet metal or plate. I have been looking for the old turn stylers that one of the vendors used to have so I can cover the rubber and all you see is chrome

Not a real good pic.  It's a cheap barbed wire frame.  I cut away the bottom part to make a place for the LED brake and tail light bar.

Filthy from Fridays ride, but here's what I've got. Sold on this and some other forums for $35 shipped I think.

Fudgie,

I know you've seen mine, but here it is again...

Took the Turn Signals off, and moved them to the bags.  Replaced the reflectors on the bags with 35 watt halogen 'wedge' lights (were 7 watt, but too dim.  Used a Dremel tool, to grind out space for the 35's).  Laid the plate down, on the fender, backed by a 1/8" piece of black plastic.  Plate lighting is done with a 6" LED strip, from Radiance.  In Wisconsin, the older plates like mine are the size of Billboards.  The only place, at the time, I could find a frame was Kuryakyn.

When I run the trunk, there two additional LED turn signals I added, for extra visability.

Both Brake Lights are SOMA (Stay Off My Ass) flashers.  Replacement bulb, in the fender light, and a 'wig-wag' module, in the trunk.

I also have the oversized Valkyrie plate, took it off and replaced with a cheap $8.00 plastic chrome with nut caps from Auto-Zone. (Still look good four years later) Took off the fugly red reflectors to clean it up. I have run the clear lenses, although recently switched to the red for better visability. Also added Chets Chrome covers to the blinkers to cover the rubber.

Different look, bags on.

New red lenses (little dark)

I went with a chrome frame with red LEDs that flash with the brakes. Love it.

Lol!  Bel Fouche only considers Alaska.  Adding Hawaii to the mix puts the center of the U.S. somewhere in the Pacific.

It's truly a moving experience to stand at the geographic center of the forty-eighty contiguous United States near Lebanon, Kansas.

I like Bel Fouche too.  We camped there through hardest rainstorm I've ever experienced from inside a tent.

A nice frame certainly helps the looks of the license plate. But, putting a lot of extra weight on that long, unsupported back fender may encourage it to crack. Thanks Pete.
