I bought my new 2014 Valk towards the end of 2016 for $9,999 and I see this 2014 with ABS for $12,999 when I went into the shop to purchase oil last week.  I can't believe that ABS would command a $3,000 premium.

That's so funny!!  This is the same dealer that wanted to sell me a used 14 with 5,000 $600 less than the new one I got up the road.  I guess he really didn't want my money?

When I ordered mine this past winter, all I specified was that it be blue with the tall windshield, back rest and luggage rack.  It arrived with ABS and didn't cost me any extra, but I live in Canada, so maybe they that's all they had left in blue.

All Canadian models are ABS. No choice in the matter. But the way I look at it, it should help overall cost to be cheaper to produce and sell if they only come one way or the other. My vote would be all ABS, and to all those who say they don't need ABS, continue riding and braking as you always have and pretend it's not equipped with ABS. Mabie it never gets triggered and your right, but Mabie one day it does, you avoid an accident and live to tell about it.

Mike,
Not all Valks sold in Canada have ABS.  Most don't.  It is just that some blue and red ones had it but all black ones did.  There may be an exception, or two black ones that don't.  All the black ones I have seen in Canada did.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up.  I'm just glad I scored my U.S. version Black ABS for a killer price while they were still easy to find as now it seems they are quite scarce.

I hear you.  When I bought mine, all the deals were on the ABS versions.  The non ABS bikes seemed to be the same price.  The place I bought mine only had black Valks with ABS, so that's what I got.  I bought mine for $500 over dealer cost because they wanted to move them out.  I originally wanted a red one, but they were hard to find.
