Hi friends

At Inzane here and there are two Valks - blue and maroon. Your plates are Arizona. What is the make of your leather seats? They look darn comfortable!!

Thanks in advance

If it is the below, don't get excited.  Ultimate only made two. Did not go into production.

Psycho (the maroon one, I think) threw me his keys at the West Virginia
InZane and told me to try the seat out for real... the sweet spot was
way too small for me.

Here's my final solution:

I like the (much bigger) Ultimate seat on my regular Valkyrie, though it does
get a little squirmy after a few days in the saddle.

I've never had a Russel seat before. It's a hundred times better than the OEM
1800 Valkyrie seat (to me) and a lot more comfortable than the Corbin. The Corbin
is top-notch quality, and they will adjust them for you (good customer service).

But the Russel kicks it up a few notches. Never a squirm.

And how do you like that RDL seat ??

The red is mine, the blue is Psycho's.  Like others said, the seats were made by Ultimate, but they decided against producing them.  That said, the seats are not very comfortable and we will be replacing them.  Probably with Russell or BMS.

Bill Mayer was the original inventor of the Russell technology... he sold the patent to Russell.  I don't have any personal experience with the BMS seats though.

I have had my RDL going on it's second year and I would not consider anything else.  I have done week long rides doing 7 - 12 hrs a day and my butt never bothered me.  Although, I needed a vacation from my vacation.  Next time, more stopping to enjoy the scenery.   2funny

Also, never trust Google maps to get the traveling times between places...it lies, big time.  Trips that it said were 5 hrs long ended up being closer to 7 hrs.   tickedoff Those days weren't so bad.  It was the days that it said 9 hrs drive time that turned out to be 12 hrs.  Driving after dark on back roads is not fun when the forest is infested with deer, bear and moose and it is the only road to get to your hotel that you pre-booked.  I hate pre-booking, but it was high season for tourists.

If Psycho is considering getting rid of his, I would be interested in buying it.  I have a blue Valk, so the red wouldn't go with it.  I had an Ultimate on my 99 Valk and loved it.

Yes , I did a few months ago went to Ventura Ca   to BMS   for a seat mod .
Love it  , soooo much better over the stock  .
In 2 weeks I'll  make the trip to Russell Day Long factory to have a seat made by them .
My day is July 27th  , then I will have 2  custom   seats  and will make the choice  as to which one I will keep and sell

I believe there are 2 brothers, Rick and Bill Mayer, their Father sold his bidness to Russel, Russel may be the Fathers 1st name.??? I think they have a good product but over charge for the service. Most unheard of local seat guys charge about $100-$300 for similar service. To cover a P/U truck seat is a similar price.

I had my stock seat re-cushioned for $150, works pretty good. The corbin was better in some ways. There is an old timer, 86 year old Don Hendrickson in Gilbert AZ. Been doing M/C seats since 1953. He does nice work, $100 up.

Wayne, I'm sure he would consider selling, but your stocker would have to be part of the deal.

Sorry about the rental flood, I left AZ just 2 days before the heavy monsoon started. It may be an omen, I'm pretty sure both seat are nearly the same, Maybe we can get a pic of a Russel and your Bill Mayer seat, I think they are about the same.
