Are the rear brake pads for a Standard/Tourer different from the Interstate?  HDL has them listed separately with different part numbers.  The IS is only about $23, while the STD/Tour is $35.  Will the IS pads work on the STD?

The caliper is very different, I'd guess you'd not want to interchange the pads...

hub,
what's different? inquiring minds what to know.
service manual only shows one rear caliper for all bikes. The only dif I have ever seen is that I/S rear calipers are painted black.

The pistons in the Interstate caliper are smaller in diameter. That means the caliper bodies are
different (smaller "piston holes")... different part numbers on the pads make me want to think
they must be different too, but I don't remember actually comparing them...

Saved the below post from 7/25/2008. They have different part numbers because of the shim. One has it installed and the other doesn't use one.
Just put in new rear pads this spring forgetting about the IS pads until after I finished the job.
Below is the post I saved, maybe check the archives by date.

And, in case you don't know

The Interstate rear will fit the Std/Tourer.
Just reuse that white plastic shim & save $11.

Thanks!  I'll have to remember that for next time since I already bought the $35 pads.
