I have a 1998 Standard with an Interstate ICM. OEM trigger wheel I want to test the ECT sensor based on a thread I read here.
http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php?topic=67232.0I have the service manual and the resistance reading for the ECT
2.0-3.0 K ohms at 68F
200-300 ohms at 176F
I was hoping I could test the ECT under the neck cover by unplugging the blue connector? Taking readings sitting over night and at operating temperature.
If the ECT proves bad is there a way to bypass the ECT and run in a operating temperature mode with the timing advance off till I get a new ECT? Leave the ECT unplugged at the blue connector and putting a jumper across the green black striped wire and pink wire?
I have what I thought was a vibration under load below 3K RPMs. If the ECT test bad I would like to bypass the ECT until I replace it and see if the vibration still exists. I'm wonder if what I think is a vibration is detonation due to a bad ECT.
