Some one would have to take a close look to determine that. The pipes are a bit toasty but that can happen real quick if the choke was left on or it wasnt running right.

let's say you crank it once a month to keep it running, but you don't ride it. You'd keep it running and the carbs clear, but without moving the bike the mileage is low but it would toast up the headers a bit.

Best way to check is see if it's got the original OE tires, ie they are e-3s it probly isn't correct. They haven't made the d206 for years. they look like d206 to me. Don't know for sure. hoser

mileage on an used bike could mean a lot of things.
I was looking at a bike on Craigslist that listed the mileage at 36,000 miles. The exhaust had been heavily modified, so I asked how long had the exhaust been running modified without the carbs tweaked. I asked a string of other questions. The guy emailed me back and said that the engine was from a wrecked bike and only had 13,000 miles on it and no damage. The frame was off another bike, from a company that's parting them out on ebay w/ title and it only had XXXX miles on it. Then he started into the other pieces he'd bought from where ever. I never see how that totaled 36,000 miles. Math is funny sometimes.

Those pipes would scare the crap out of me. It takes a lot of heat to do that to double wall pipes.

If I'm not mistaken that looks like a bike that was listed on Craigslist by a lady in Sharonville,OH this past summer. If it is the same bike it only had just over 900 miles on it when she listed it.

Well, I inquired about the bike pipes... and here is the reply....
"The pipes are clean, no rust. They are blue near the cylinder head. Typical of in town riding on these bikes. Yes it runs excellent."
I have not seen stock pipes do this so I doubt it is "typical"....... I could be wrong tho.

stock pipes are double walled pipes and i think i remember someone made the aftermarket pipes with just a single wall...on the other hand if those are stock they took some serious heat...

Leave the choke on and let it idle and they get like that preety soon without any mileage.

ok fellas, lets pay real close attention to WHICH pipes are blue. what it appears to be(at least to me) is that, the carbs have never been sync'd and a lean condition has set in on the rear cylinders. the front wone look gold, not blue. pipes blue because of lean condition, i.e. heat.
the bike probably does run good but, it aint running as good as it should. a lean condition will eventually take it toll on the poor thing unless it is fixed. shame....

the hanger covers are gone. the lil chrome plates around the igniton and the fuel selector?? why would they be gone if it only has 1008 miles on it? I would bet that this is a salvage job, or at least the motor has been out of it. hanger covers were forgotten or destroyed....seems likely to me tho, I aint an investigator...

Chrome Hanger covers are not a stock Honda item, you have to buy them extra.

sorry, I bought mine new and it CAME with the hanger covers. every valk had them at the dealer I bought mine. I am not sure about all dealers but all the valks at my dealer had them.
and everyone I have ever seen has ahd them.

Check the rubber on the shifter. It should look new. Just like checking a brake pedal on a car can give you a clue if the miles are really highway or short stop and go trips

Dogg: Mine does not have chrome covers. Many bikes I see do not. They are after market. Your dealer must have been installing them as part of a package.
