I saw on the Facebook Valkyrie 1800 page a throttle lock by Brake Away, and got it. Installation was pretty simple, and I test rode it today. Works great. They sell them on Amazon, but are better priced on the manufactures website.

I got myself a Go Cruise throttle control for when I don't want to put on my electronic cruise control.  It's cheap and works fantastic.  Only $14 CDN.

I have the go cruise throttle lock also.  Works fine for giving my hand a rest or to zipper sleeves on jacket etc. Great bargain and plastic doesn't rust.

I have a two-tone aluminum one, as I have heated grips and a Go Cruise seems to be the only throttle lock guaranteed to work.  Getting it initially adjusted is a bit of a pain but overall it works well.

Thanks to all am ordering a Go Cruse and may eventually order a Brake Away but wanted to try a simple solution first to see if I would really use it.

Go for the aluminum $30ish US. will fit on any handgrip, worth double the price of the plastic, I did break one of those. The plastic works good though. Specify 1" bar if going cheap.

Dawg do you find it holds the speed consistently after utilizing?

I think so, but I also found myself clicking on and off a lot as I encountered traffic. It's also difficult to set to a given speed. Though I think that'll come with repeated use.

I installed it, tested it and then left town on vacation so I've not had a chance to ride any distance with it.

I find it is sensitive, but the speed tends to stay where it is set as long as you are on a flat stretch of road.  Any rise or drop and your speed will do the same because it just grips the throttle.  Mine is set so I can still twist the throttle as needed.

What is the model # for the Brake Away? On the manufacturer site I only see it listed for the F6b.

Was it a direct fit for our new Valks? Any install issues while using the factory grips?

The Brake Away site list a different model # for the Goldwing F6B and no listing for the new Valk. 7CP01 seems to be a universal version for metric bikes. Just want to make sure you didn't have to modify to get it to work or fit properly. I emailed Brake Away for the appropriate version for a 2014 Valkyrie but haven't heard from them.

I am really interested in purchasing the Brake Away.

I have factory grips and bar. It fit without any needing of modifying the throttle lock or the bike. Super easy to install. There is an install video that isn't 1800 valk specific, but it shows what you need to do. Follow it, because the written instructions are not very clear. The video is under videos on the BreakAway website. The only thing I did differently than the video was I didn't have to move my brake reservoir as they did in the video.

BrakeAway 7Cp01 installed! cooldude

My aluminum GoCruise was ok but this just says "Custom" all the way!

Typed in "7Cp01 installation" on youtube. I followed his 20 min video exactly and had no problems installing. Was much easier to watch the video than to use the included instructions.
