Parked bike this morning at 4:30am. Did a little work on it about 12:30 nothing electrical. Went to check my work and solenoid just clicked. I jumped solenoid with pliers and bike turns over good battery fully charge. No spark thou. I'm thinking pull on top of solenoid is problem. I have one burn on another bike it did the same thing. Any ideas.

Make sure the ignition is turned on when you use the pliers. Kill switch not off?

Have you ever done the starter switch maintenance? How did you determine the battery is not the issue. Turning over but not sparking is the classic sign of a weak battery

on my other bike, the batt was fully charged but too weak to crank it. the guys on that forum were saying have it load tested, but I just went ahead and got a new one (didn't know how old the batt in there was), and she fired up in one second with the new batt. I didn't realize till then it's as much about the load as the voltage.

Battery was on charger two day read 12.8 volts. I even hooked a spare auto battery to it still nothing. Checked all switches and all fuses even the large inline from factory. Test with Meter and test light. Removed plug from top of solenoid cleaned and checked for power. When I push starter button I can hear a clicking noise from under the battery box thought it was a headlight relay so I pull the headlight fuse but noise is still there. I have a volt Meter on bike starter button pushed volts don't change. Even if the starter switch is dirty shouldn't I get it to start if key is on and short across solenoid to crank bike it should start

The starter relay is supposed to "Click". Located in front of the battery under the right side cover so it could sound like it's coming from under the battery box.
Jumping the relay should turn the engine over.
If you're sure your auto battery is good and it was hooked up correctly and still no spark, then you got some searching to do.
I'd recheck the battery wires and bike ground wires first and do the battery volt check while turning the motor over.
Do you have a Honda Service Manual? Page 17-3 has ignition troubleshooting that does not look like fun.

If your spare auto battery has just been sitting around in your garage, it may be weak. I would try jumping it with a battery in your car that you know is good. 12.8 doesn't seem up to par after being on a charger for 2 days.

It may be the starter relay. The clicking tells you it is activating but doesn't tell you if the contacts inside are dirty, pitted or worn out. I do a lot of work with relays and run into that on occasion.

Got it started today. Good friend Red Diamond said to check starter button so I tore the whole assembly apart and cleaned it. It still didn't start. I check the switch with a meter and it was working perfectly. Then while holding the button down and the key on I cycled the kill switch several times and the bike tried to start. So I cleaned the switch contacts and everything is as it should be bike starts every time. I did learn if the start button doesn't work a you have key on you jump solenoid and the bike will start. But if the motor turns over but does not start it is the kill switch that is not working. Thought about bypassing the kill switch but decided not too.

That's a very bad Band-Aid. Fix the root cause, even if it involves buying another switch assembly.

Normally, if the kill switch is off or bad, the Starter relay will not even click. Sounds like your kill switch had very dirty contacts, (high resistance connection).

The click was very soft sounded more like a relay pulling in. I have several on bike. Not sure but it is running again.
